Experience
Golf
Golf is one of the UK and Ireland's greatest economic and cultural assets, with many of the most famous golf clubs and links courses in the world located here.
These attract huge numbers of tourists every year from across the globe, who in addition to playing golf inject hundreds of millions of pounds into the surrounding economy by visiting nearby hotels, restaurants, pubs, cafes, shops, and other places.
To maintain the prestigious reputation which earns these clubs the right to host major golf tournaments, their courses must be kept to the highest standard, and this requires regular maintenance and upgrades to ensure that this standard is met. Often, these works require planning permission - this is where we at Gravis Planning are uniquely placed to help.

Areas of expertise
Our team have worked with a number of prestigious golf clubs to provide Planning and Strategic Communications advice.
We secured the critical planning permissions needed for Royal Portrush Golf Club to conduct the course upgrades necessary to facilitate its hosting of The 153rd Open Championship in 2025 - one of the most-watched golfing events in the world. This required not only planning support but also targeted engagement at all levels of government, including local, regional and Ministerial representatives.
We are also working with Portstewart Golf Club in County Antrim, Hog's Head Golf Club in County Kerry, and St. Anne's Golf Club in County Dublin.
