Our Involvement

The section of the North-South Interconnector (NSI) located in Northern Ireland spans some 34 kilometres. The project is key in helping Northern Ireland to meet its target of generating 80 percent of electricity from renewable sources by 2030, by providing clear a route to market for these assets. In bolstering Northern Ireland's electricity supply it will also help to reduce the cost of consumers' electricity bills. It will further stimulate economic growth through the creation of local jobs in both its construction and operation in perpetuity.

Gravis Planning have been involved in managing political engagement with key elected representatives, decision makers and stakeholders related to the project at all levels. We have also advised the client and project team on landowner engagement and community consultation. This has enabled the project to clear all planning hurdles in Northern Ireland. Furthermore, we have advised on the provision of online and social media engagement around the project, helping to define the project's messaging and target information to key stakeholders.
